Another BS Real Estate guru promoting his site?....

It only takes a few seconds for you to realize that the author is affiliated with the site www.biggerpockets.com . Oh great another real estate investing guru who just so happens to funnel you into his site! But what happens when you get to the site? What services do you have to pay for to get real estate investing Information? The same thing that happens as you continue to read the book, you star to say Wow This is great information! This is better then most of the top books on real estate investing, actually explaining "how" to get started and actually steps of action to take. As I read and explored the site I realized this book is amazing and the author knows what he is talking about and actually wants to help instead of asking me to sign up for a week long crash course on making millions of dollars in real estate. Does the author say it's easy to become rich over night? No he doesn't! He shows how any average person can get involved in rental property investments. This book is one of the most comprehensive books on the topic. I would recommend this book to people who actually want to learn and get into real estate investing. This is one of the few books that is not only a good introduction but also has a ton of information for seasoned real estate investors as well. I was truly amazed and to think I almost skipped over this book because I thought it was one of those real estate scams! Great book with great information.

Invest in yourself before you invest in anything else

Great for both would-be landlords and landlords with a handful of units. If you're starting out, you should be reading everything you can get your hands on as each book will have gaps in its coverage that another book will start to fill in. This book fills in a lot of gaps that many other books don't address such as sources (other than MLS) for rentals, negotiation tips, and how important school districts and nearby amenities are to rental properties.

Another great addition to your investment toolkit. There are a TON of ways to invest in rentals. They definitely covered the details on best methods for the strategies used in investing. A lot of what goes into this is simply explaining the "black box" that is Real Estate Investing (REI). Brandon and the team break down the process step by step in an easy to digest fashion. This book is great for those who really want a window into the world investing. I would highly recommend it to those getting started as well as folks who have years of experience!

Must get

This is easily one of my favorite WH40K books, period. The reviews encouraged me to pick this up, and it delivers.

I've never been a fan of the Space Wolves, but this brought a much more nuanced look than I'd seen before. I really learned to like Russ. I even emphasized a bit in Lion, and I've never liked him. So remarkable writing.

The ending may be the best ending in any WH40K book.

Easily, easily recommend this.

The book is slightly taller than the Space Marine Battles books. Pages are thicker than normal as well. Felt odd as I turned the page, until I figured that out.

Better than the 1st book in the series

Way better than the 1st book in the primarch series. This book tells the story of the start of the honor feud between the Space Wolves and Dark Angels. The story as told by Leman Russ shows the "human" side of this Primarch and somewhat of his brother the El' Johnson. The pace of the story was steady with no slow moments for me. All the parts were necessary to be included in the storytelling. Kudos to the writer and his' effor to bring to life one of the storied characters in the 30 k universe.

Simply amazing

Okay I was literally shocked at how good this book was. I'm not really a fan of the Space Wolves or Leman Russ (especially after A Thousand Sons and Prospero Burns), but this is easily in my top ten of The Horus Heresy timeline. The feud between Lion 'El Jonson and Russ is brought to life and the honor duels between the Dark Angels and Space Wolves is explained. Awesome book, great job, Chris Wright!

Well-written & illustrated gem of useful and clever tricks!

I have owned and used and loved this book for years, and have given copies to good friends because I knew they'd love it too.
The anecdotes the author uses to explain the ingenious tools and techniques people have come up with to "move their heavy things", are so well written and sometimes humorous you'll find yourself reading them just for entertainment, even if you never have a need to move anything. With drawings as witty as the writing, this book honors the ingenuity of our forebears, before the age of the hydraulic brutes that do all our work for us today. Farmers, sailors, pioneers, builders of all kinds, have solved these problems, and this book passes on this clever heritage.
The pen and ink drawings are entertaining, and illustrate clearly how these tools and techniques work. One beauty is the trick of standing a tombstone up on ice cubes to facilitate positioning it over its base stone as the ice melts... without a scratch!
Adkins outlines a number of principles our grandfathers followed to arrive at elegant solutions, while minimizing sweat and risk of injury. Two of my favorites are "Applied Sloth" and "The Geezer Ploy". I could go on, but why give away too much? Treat yourself or your favorite "mover of heavy things" to this little gem. It's worth every penny! I tried to buy a copy a few years ago, but was told it was out of print. I'm delighted to see it available again. I have a few more friends in mind...

For Inquisitive Minds of Any Age

This book presents knowledge that is uncommon in our power tool saturated world. I think the greater value however is in the way that it encourages the reader to think outside the box that modernity puts us in. It includes a good foundation of technical information on the subject of moving heavy objects including the use of leverage, wedges, and rope etc. But it also emphasizes the use of creativity in solving problems that inspires the reader to cast off any assumptions of infeasibility and find the way our grandfathers would have gotten the job done.

A delightful CHILDRENS book for Jr Scientists

This is a charming "physics 101" book for CHILDREN who are interested in moving heavy things. I'm surprised that the other reviewers who HATED this book didn't understand that the audience is CHILDREN, but don't let the nay-sayers deter you if you are buying for the intended audience. It's a charming, brief look at the history of power-schlepping simply written and nicely illustrated for the under-12 set. My son is interested in science and has found this to be an entertaining book. Most importantly, it is as much information on the subject as he requires at 9 years old. I recommend this book!
