About the Author

Aaron T. Woland, CCIE No. 20113, is a principal engineer within Cisco’s technical marketing organization and works with Cisco’s largest customers all over the world. His primary job responsibilities include secure access and identity deployments with ISE,

solution enhancements, standards development, and futures. Aaron joined Cisco in 2005 and is currently a member of numerous security advisory boards and standards body working groups. Prior to joining Cisco, Aaron spent 12 years as a consultant and technical trainer. His areas of expertise include network and host security architecture and implementation, regulatory compliance, virtualization, as well as route-switch and wireless. Technology is certainly his passion, and Aaron currently has two patents in pending status with the United States Patent and Trade Office. Aaron is the author of the Cisco ISE for BYOD and Secure Unified Access book (Cisco Press) and many published whitepapers and design guides. Kevin Redmon is the youngest of 12 siblings and was born in Marion, Ohio. Since joining Cisco in October 2000, Kevin has worked closely with several Cisco design organizations; as a firewall/VPN customer support engineer with the Cisco Technical Assistant Center; as a systems test engineer in BYOD Smart Solutions Group; and now as a systems test engineer in the IoT Vertical Solutions Group in RTP, NC with a focus on the connected transportation systems. Besides co-authoring this book with Aaron Woland, Kevin is also the author of the Cisco Press Video Series titled Cisco Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Networking LiveLessons. He has a bachelor of science in computer engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a master of science in information security from East Carolina University, as well as several Cisco certifications. Kevin enjoys presenting on network security-related topics and Cisco’s latest solutions. He has presented several times at Cisco Live, focusing on network security-related topics and has achieved the honor of Distinguished Speaker. Kevin enjoys innovating new ideas to keep his mind fresh and currently has a patent listed with the United States Patent and Trade Office. Best Cisco Certification Book I've read!

I am already CCNA (2 books), CCNP R&S (4 books), CCDA (1 book), CCDP (1 book) and CCNA Security (1 book) certified. The reason why I'm bringing this number is because CCNP Sec SISAS 300-208 was the best Cisco Cert book I've read!

#1 - it is fun... the book is very engaging and the flow of the reading is reeeeeeally smooth!
#2 - fun is not enough! The CONTENT of the book is really easy to understand, yet crucial for passing the Cert.

I've passed my exam today and basically all I used was the book with a Lab (ISE 1.2 + 3560-E switch + PC) to practice.

This will cover most of what's on the exam

This covers about 85% of what the certification exam covers. There are other Cisco products that this book does not reference or cover that are on the exam. In fairness to the author, some of these other things aren't listed on the exam topics either.

Took the exam today and did very well main study source was this book and some prior experience with ISE, lots of good stuff in this book!

This book has really helped me, my little one is almost one and I read mostly about sleep training and eating and he's been sleep trained since the beginning, sleeps through the night and I didn't follow it to the dot. I took the parts that made sense to me and once I relaxed and enjoyed my baby I got to know him and his needs and that's all I needed everything else came natural. Keeping them on a routine is a must and not going crazy over it at the same time was what helped. It is kind of hard to read since it keeps referencing you to other pages so that the book is not repeatable but its okay she explains that on the intro.

The Baby Whisperer Made My Kid Awesome

I bought this book back in 2006, after I had my first baby and was struggling to survive! I followed her techniques-not all of them to the letter, but generally-and 2 1/2 years later, I have a great child. By providing Chloe with a consistent routine, she is thriving. She started sleeping through the night at 3 months, has always napped well, and is an extremely well behaved and happy child, even in these "terrible twos".
I think one of the the most important pieces of advice Tracy imparts is "start as you mean to go on", which I took to mean that you can't let things slide-you have to commit to doing something, even if it's not the easy way out, and stick with it. This advice has come in handy SO MANY times, especially now that I have a toddler. Would it be easier to give her pudding for dinner to make her stop yelling at me? Yes. Do I want her thinking she can have pudding for dinner every night? No. Here's your chicken and corn, sweetie. Start as you mean to go on.
The main thing Tracy stresses is the importance of a routine. Some people take issue with having their child in a set routine because it takes commitment to do it and it seems like it would tie you down. What I found is that a routine is extremely liberating, and here's how: every night, Chloe has a bath, we read a story, and then she goes to bed. This is a routine that can go anywhere. Wanna stay in a hotel? Whip out that routine and the kid will go night-night. Wanna leave your child with a friend or relative for the night so you can go away with your hubby? Whip out that routine and the kid will go night-night. See what I mean? By knowing what to expect, your child will be more comfortable and your life will be better as a result. This is the basic advice in Tracy's book. It takes work in the beginning to establish these routines, but the payoff is totally worth it.
I also really liked the book "Wonder Weeks" and wish I had gotten it right when she was born.

Zen-like concepts and little depth in a coffee-table book format

I was hoping for a practical how-to guide for B2B branding. That's what my small business does: B2B services. There was little practical advice in this book that applies to small business.

What I did find was a series of zen-like concepts and how they applied to Deloitte - a very large international corporation. These little nuggets of wisdom were good and I think helpful for my own marketing strategy creation. Is it conceptual? Yes. Is it a practical guide? No.

I think the title mentioning 195,000 Brand Managers leads the purchaser to think there may be input or examples from outside Deloitte. It quickly can be seen when reading the 195,000 are just all the Deloitte employees. Still this bugged me a bit.

The layout of the book is logical and presents the (as the authors appear to feel) gold standard of the Deloitte B2B marketing and branding efforts. It is good, but feels self aggrandizing. At least a bit is due to the lack of any pitfalls in how the brand was implemented. Surely there were things they tried that didn't work. Knowing those and why they didn't work would have been helpful and I think built more credibly.

The book itself is hard cover in coffee-table large format. The high quality paper and color printing with emphasis on pictures and large simple diagrams all say this book is more for display than reading. Perhaps this is the coffee-table book for the marketing professional?

I got some good concepts and ideas about marketing and branding from Designing B2B Brands. I don't think it was aimed at me, but at the mega corporation marketing professional.

For the marketing professional it may be a 5 star book, but for me it's only worth 1 star. I would not spend my money on this.

Great value

This book has a lot of useful information and examples. The focus is only Deloitte, but it's a good illustration of how a brand is expressed and managed in every aspect of a single business. For companies with some DIY spirit, this would be a good reference. I don't know how the visuals would translate to the kindle edition. In the print version, the images help convey the balance of consistency and creativity in how they communicate, which is one of the best parts of this book. Without those images it may not have as much impact.

Impressive brands and impressive book!

Designing B2B Brands was just what I was looking for - a summary of everything on the topics of branding. Strategy, positioning, visual identity...and then tons of examples of those concepts brought to life. With my marketing background, I found it incredibly useful. I didn't know much about Deloitte or their brand before reading this, but it was a real eye-opener. Impressive brand and impressive book!

I don't particularly like them but son loves them!

The Captain Underpants books were not my favorite books, coming from a perspective of a parent. Much of the content is crude, talking about pee, poo, boogers, and whatnot. But that part is bearable, because it's also what my son finds so funny with the book. The aspect that irks me the most are the comics, where half of the words are misspelled. Sure, I know that the comics are supposed to be written by a child, but I really do not want my son becoming confused with spelling words incorrectly. I have explained that the words are spelled as a child would sound them out, and he understands that.

If I was judging this as a parent, I would give it 3 stars. But I have to give it 4. Why? Because my son, WHO HATES TO STUDY or read, will on his own volition, pick up these books from our huge library of books, and sit down for an hour reading this, while laughing out loud hysterically. He will read some of these books like a maniac, reading it from cover to cover, until it is finished. This is a normal 7 year old boy who, remember, hates to study. He finds the panorama (where you flip the pages and the pictures move) fascinating, and will flip back and forth many times, laughing like a demon to himself.

So, if Captain Underpants can get my son to do any reading at all, I have to rate it higher and give props to Dav Pilkey.

By the way, this set is a great value, because I bought the both of the 3 set books at around sixteen to twenty dollars a piece, and here you would get the whole collection, including the newest book that just came out this summer 2011.

I was pleased with the fast delivery. The quality of the books was fine and my only wish is that this set would have come with a book holder for all of the books of the set to fit in like many other book sets have.

Wish my older son had read this series...

First let me say that I am not a fan of bathroom humor. That being said, I could not be more appreciative of this series. My 7 year old son loves them and has become an avid reader because of these books. I reluctantly read the books with him and have since become a huge fan of the stories, myself. But before I can tell you that story, I have to tell you this story. :-)
My older son is not much of a reader. He never found a genre that captivated him. Consequently, getting him to read anything is always a struggle. But since my younger son has read all of the Captain Underpants books plus Super Diaper Baby and Ook and Gluk, he has become an enthusiastic reader!
I prefer Captain Underpants over the others because the vocabulary is more demanding. We can't wait until the 11th book comes out!

Helpful information for drill press owner

The drill press has been around so long, there are not many writers creating 'how to' books for them any more. This book by Nick Engler is one of the few that I could find on the subject. Having just bought a new drill press, I've found this book has lots of useful information about how to use the machine to best advantage. It's well written and illustrated too.

Good book. I bought this because my drill press ...

Good book. I bought this because my drill press had quite a bit of run out, and the author has a good section on how to true up the spindle and chuck. I ended up buying a new chuck, but the information is invaluable anyway. He has a section on how to prep the drill press (by locking the quill) so you can use it as a light drum sander, and for very light routing. This gave me the courage to try routing with a 1/8" bit and it works well at 3500 rpm. It's much easier to free-hand rout when you can actually see the work from the top. Just make sure you seat the chuck before you start, and stop immediately if you get chatter. I also made an arbor from a 5/8" bolt, and use it to hold a diamond tile saw to sharpen table saw blades.

She continued to care for those close to her and to write both letters and verse.

From the perspective of Dickinson’s maturity and resilience, we also see her gift for depicting and dramatizing episodes in a manner that gives the illusion of their being autobiographical whether they are or not. Dickinson was, however, an actress who changed roles and points of view as readily as she experimented with poetic genres. Analyses of her various personae (or “supposed persons”) for dramatic monologues in the Browning tradition—which enabled the poet to represent a range of experiences different form her own—serve to dispel much of the confusion that has surrounded her in the last century. Rather than searching for an illusive absent center, Phillips scrutinizes in a most revealing way the poet’s reading, appropriation, and command of materials from the Brontës, George Eliot, Hawthorne, the Brownings, Shakespeare, and the Southey for personae that introduce us to a Dickinson heretofore hardly glimpsed. A central vision of the study is the poet as a biographer of souls.
